The Nevada Teacher Academy College Pathway Program (TACPP) gives students interested in education an opportunity to begin preparing for college and a teaching career while they are still in high school. Established through Assembly Bill 462 (2025), TACPP is designed to create a stronger pathway from Nevada high schools to college, teacher preparation, licensure, and ultimately a career serving Nevada students.
TACPP students can begin completing education-related coursework while in high school, including opportunities to earn dual credit. Earning college credit early can help students enter college with credits already completed, potentially reducing the time and expense required to complete a degree.
Students also receive a clearer pathway into Nevada’s public higher education system. Rather than waiting until graduation to begin thinking about college and a career, TACPP helps students understand the steps they need to take and connects their high school experience to their future education goals.

Through Teaching and Training coursework and Work-Based Learning experiences, students can observe and participate in real educational environments. You don’t have to wait until your senior year. Students are encouraged to begin exploring TACPP opportunities early in high school so they have time to plan their coursework and take advantage of available college-credit opportunities.
Students have different ways to complete the high school portion of TACPP. Your counselor can help you identify the pathway that works best with your schedule and graduation plan.
Depending on the pathway selected, students may complete Teaching and Training coursework or qualifying education dual-credit courses while in high school.
TACPP isn’t just about taking classes. Students also complete a Work-Based Learning experience that provides an opportunity to explore education in a real-world setting.
These experiences may allow students to observe educators, work with students, learn about different careers in education, and experience what happens inside schools from the perspective of a future education professional.
